Installation of first paint mixing system. - 03/01/03
Pexa Ltd Materials Supply Partners, the distributor of coatings and other materials to the aerospace and related industries, have just installed their first paint mixing system.
The system is for the production of Akzo Nobel's "Aeroflex Finish S15-69". This is a single component acrylic topcoat available in gloss, semi-gloss and matt finishes and in the full spectrum of national and international colour standards.
Aeroflex Finish S15-69 is approved by the UK MoD to DTD5599a and by the US DoD to Mil-L-81352, as well as a host of other aerospace industry specifications. It is a fast drying, easy to apply product with excellent durability and colour-fastness. It is particularly specified for smaller aircraft, helicopters and military aviation requirements.
Pexa are producing this topcoat on a modular mixing machine, which allows for very fast turn-round times and for a high degree of flexibility in order quantities. The process is fully approved by Akzo Nobel, who have assisted Pexa with the installation and with training of Pexa's staff in the production techniques.
